BUSYNESS

Oh!!!!! What a filling, and life changing experience I encountered; standing at the entrance greeting and watching all of the beautiful woman pouring into the sanctuary for this year's Flourish conference.  As I watched women from different walks of life, shades of color, and different fashion sense - my spirit became somber. These women were too busy to just rest in the atmosphere - God's atmosphere.
I noticed cell phone distractions, the weight of the week distractions, the weight of life distractions, the weight of the world distractions - every distraction one could imagine- I saw it like a dark rain cloud . I mumbled to myself "they're missing the moment . A precious moment that  can never be relived or regained." I made a mental note to make a change in my busyness. Talking to myself I said "Lord-  we  are here to "flourish" because You said to do so and it shall be so!"  Then the music started - all  busyness, distraction, hurt, disappointment, and fear disappeared - in that moment - we all became one mind- one body - one spirit - one soul; one daughter with one purpose  - to glorify You!  You were there - You met us there with Your arms wide open...ready for our embrace!
I was in complete and total awe!  Sure, I've worked and interacted with women - but I've never worshipped with so many women at once. Jesus was in this place - His hand rested  upon our hearts - my heart. Tears flowed - in that moment- in that instance I encountered a watershed moment. "Cleanse me O'Lord - cleanse my soul and take away my busyness. Let everyday be like this day." What a sweet and phenomenal experience to serve a colorblind and loving Savior!.
Busyness is such a trick of the adversary; the devil. If everything else can take your focus then you have nothing left for the One who matters - God.  Much like the parable of Martha and Mary (Luke 10: 38-42) "Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But The Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion which will not be taken away from her."
Busyness with stuff is not of God. How busy are you? Do you rush from A to B to Z then back to K? If so , the enemy has you right where he wants you - cornered with no hope of resolve or release in sight. God sent me to tell you - "Be still, submit, and surrender." That doesn't mean stop working but it does mean to shift your focus to Him - and all else will fall into place.
How can you achieve a life less busy? I will tell you how: by taking the time to bask in each moment that is given to you; by appreciating where you've been so that you don't return. Check your spiritual busyness and then do the following: Be the change. Be the light. Be the platform to life.
